Ok, so this old dude comes up to me after the poetry reading and says that he really likes my work, but that I need to weigh out the positives w/ the negatives. I think he's a poet b/c he read a poem too and it was incredible. He said "Try to hv a conversation w/ them, and when you hv something you like, here's my e-mail, and send it to me". So, on thursday, I felt inspired...

I brag about how I worry
About how all this shit
Is sputtering around
So that it's all that I can smell
I say "you'd never understand"
But the truth is, you could
I oft miss the fact that
Other people hv a sense of smell too
That as shit, it is a substance
So it has many different fragerances
So I feel overwhelmed due to it
When really, it's vanilla I smell
Sweet, sweet, french vanilla orchids
That I cannot attain myself
So to me, it's shit

Okok, you hv to be a good interpretor to get this, I used shit b/c peopl always say "aw shit!" when their pissed, not "aw poop!" and it was good for the metaphor and kept it light. Also, I know it's not exactly positive, but it's not exactly negative either, so it's kinda nither, and that's one step closer to that "conversation" thing.

Haha, also, my dad looked and saw he was looking @ an ad for a car and then off he went w/ his business, making deals anywhere he can...gotta hand it to him, damn good salesman...
